Stucco siding is made from cement or lime-based plaster that is spread over the exterior wall to form a smooth or patterned finish. While we covered some stucco repair techniques in an earlier blog post, here are some additional tips and tricks to help you repair cracks, small holes, and other minor damages to your stucco. For best results, do your stucco repairs on a temperate day, out of direct sunlight. Check the weather forecast to make sure the stucco repair will have time to dry before the next rainfall. Patching small holes, cracks, or other damaged areas to stucco siding isn't beyond the scope of most homeowner's ability. Of course, you can always hire a siding contractor to come out and do the job, but why not alleviate the expense by tackling the job yourself. If you can mix mud in a bucket, you can handle this repair. First, buy a stucco repair kit or bag of stucco cement from a home improvement store. If you buy Portland cement (stucco) you'll also have to pick up sand.
